Passion for Kerala

26-Jun~ Passion Of Kerala

If you do happen to know the location of Myzi, then you will be able to find this restaurant. To be more precise, it is just next to Korean BBQ Chicken in New World Park.Banana leaf cuisine was the dish populated by the Indian ethnic. This is mainly happen when there’s occasion like the wedding celebration.

Normally, a piece of clean-square banana leaf will be put in front of the guest. Then, the host will scoop out the some white fragrant rice on the banana leaf. Then, the host will shovel a few dishes of curry on the banana leaf as well. Sometimes, they will too put some Acar (a kind of pickles preserved in chilies) for the additional kick. Then the guest is most welcome to savor the dish with his or her own hand.

Let’s scroll down and have a look of the evolution of Banana Leaf Cuisine in those modern days.

This restaurant was decorated with bright lights and furnished with dark colored furniture. This is something similar that we are going to have later on!! I am drooling already… My drink of the day. I was ordering this Ginger Teh Tarik but I have forgotten to request to minus the milk within…. Anyhow, the taste was similar with the Teh Tarik with a touch of ginger. No doubt it is good…but do ensure to be taken in HOT. (RM2.5)Pompadom were served free flow over here. It was a kind of cracker made of kacang dhall and of coz with lots of spices. You can either have them in whole or you even can dip them on the curry itself. And this is our Banana leaf Vegetarian set (RM5-5). There were 4 type of vegetable curry to be served with the rice.
From left: Stewed vegetable cubes with grinded turmeric and shredded coconut.
Sambal Taukua (Hard Core Tofu)
Stir fried Long beans with shredded coconut
Sambal Chilies

To serve good Banana Leaf Cuisine, ones need marvelous curry to convoy with curry. Mine vegetarian set was tag along with 3 types of curry. From left: Chicken Curry, Dhall Curry and Fish CurryWe have ordered additional dish as well. First to come was this Masala Chicken. This is the chicken curry made from masala and spices. This is is really HOT!! (RM5 for 1pax)When asked what is the frequent dishes requested by customer, the staff over there recommended this Fried Fish. It was indeed the Ikan bawal Hitam. This is indeed a good dish!! And here’s the picture of as a whole…Now let’s cut the crap and let’s feast on…

Eventually, this place do served good banana leaf cuisine with a touch of classy within.
