21-Jul-10~ Today was our 3rd anniversary upon registration. And we decided to make it a GREAT day so we head to one of the Great house of Penang.
Located just after the Masjid Negeri, you will find lots of signboard reassuring the way to this Great house. After the traffic light of the Masjid Negeri at Air Itam, you will find the very 1st signboard to turn to the left. Then you will find yourself landed in this vacant area but do not worry that you will got lost, just have the guts and follow the signboard and you will this great house in less than 2minutes.
This so-called Great house of Penang as it was well known as the 1st house of Sir Francis Light. It was later on revamped sophisticatedly and elegantly. Visited are allowed with RM15 per pax. This double storey mansion was painted in classy white color. And this exclusive restaurant was located just at the bottom of the floor.
At the main entrance, you will find this banner in front….
When we stepped in, we were snowed under of the chic feeling… everything include the lighting, the table setting and the decorations really showered us gleefully… then we were warmly welcomed by the waitress there.
The table setting was uncomplicated and yet it was adequately set up. Each table have these set of culinary and a crystal glass with a little candle on it…
The menu was really simple and just contains a few 4-5pages… 1st page was the list of the entrees, followed by this set dinner main course and followed by these ala carte orders..
The choices were not ample and yet still can make you drooling already… when asked on how to order, we were told that if we opt for Set Diner, we may choose a main course and we will be served the list of the entrees and desserts.
Pssstttt…. Total we were served 5 appetizers, 1 soup and 3 types desserts….
All these for only RM95++

Before we were served these stunning dishes, we served this hot cross bun with butter. It was not any common bun but it was this sour cream bun served HOT!! When we spread the butter on it, it melt instantly….

1st to served was this Spiced Chicken Mini Pie. It was dish up nicely in a clay spoon. On 1st bite, it tastes like the chicken pie but the batter was more buttery flavor. Nice…
Next was this, sea scallop with grilled egg plant. The egg plant were cut and grilled perfectly and top with this grilled scallop. Then, some bean sprouts and topped with a cherry tomato, they were garnished all over the scallop. AWESOME!!
Then were this plate of green salad. This plate of salad were full of leafy lettuce, cherry tomatoes, some sliced tofu and some embellished with some cheddar cheese. Served with this cool tomato yogurt dressing.. COOL!!!
Then was this celery and carrot cream soup served in an stylish cup… Pls do remember do not asked for any spoon….. just sip it down slowly and you will feel the UMMPPPPHHHHHHH…..

This cup of soup were served with this smoked salmon toasted bread. VERY GOOD!!!
The next miracle queuing up was this Tomato Sherbet with sour plum… this sourish and cooling sherbet was really indescribable. This sherbet were sprinkled with some sour plum grind…. Believe me... you jsut can't stop this.....It was EXCELLENT!!!
The main course was this grilled Chicken in Cajun spice served with spaghetti ala pesto sauce. The chicken was grilled perfectly and the taste just nice…
I was surprised by the heavy taste itself as normally, this kind of restaurant, the food will be served in mild taste…. I found the spaghetti was a bit too much of herbs…
We have ordered another ala carte of this Crumbled Spiced Cod fish served with this black rice pilaf and garnished with some tomato salsas and avocados…
The Cod Fish was deep fried completely and battered with this spices and the crunchy crumbs… it was served on top of this black pilaf rice (taste like couscous)…
I do not fancy on the black pilaf rice as it taste a bit odd for me….
But I LOVE the fish…very much!!
And so as these Tomato salsas with avaocados…
SUPERB!!
The last to serve was this desserts and coffee..
The 1st dessert was this Vanilla ice cream with pistachios nuts… it was creamy and yet crunchy… COOL
Then was this raspberry and chocolate cake. The cake was smooth and was rich in chocolaty and raspberry taste… NICE NICE!!
Last was this banana strudel. This HOT dessert were awe-inspiring when the banana melts in my mouth… DOUBLE GOOD!!
