Spice Up

That day, we have a hasty crush to have some ‘kick’ of the food. Hence, we choose Palace De India for that meticulous kick… hahhahaa

This Palace De India serves truly Indian Food. Located on the corner of the 3rd floor of the Queensbay Mall, the place was bedecked with a touch of Indian zephyr. The whole place was indeed in RED and it was embellished with a tanglung-alike trait. The trait was hung with loads of hand made soft toys of elephant and birdies. You can even scent the Indian odor there…hahhahaaWe were acknowledged warmly by the staff there. My Ceejay got so agitated when we were seated nearby the window. With me, was my mum, Sis, hubby & my nephew Ceejay.
For starter, we were given the very prominent ‘Pompadom’…not sure if my spelling correct or not….hhahhaha
The ‘Pompadom’ is a kind of snack for the Indians who love it so much as they were crispy and scrumptious itself. Served with their special sauce, Mint-Corriander Chutney, the dipping sauce from combination of mint and coriander, garlic and ginger and some chillies blended in a perfect way. Hubby decides to try on the most talkabout drink, the Mango Lassi. It was the mango blended with the yogurt itself. I found it too sweet and the yogurt was indeed too strong for me. For Sis, she had what they claimed as Mumbai Coffee. When I have a sip, the taste was like the the Yin-Yeong feeling…. Yin Yeong is where you mixed tea and coffee together. Not bad at all

Here comes our snack. This was called the Vegetable Podka, where different types of vegetables were cut in stripes, e.g. potato, capsicum and carrot. All veges were deep-fry in special mix of batter where you can taste a flavorful hint of spices.
Next came was the Chicken Chettinad. This was so called the Chettiar chicken style, rich in 16 spices accordingly. They add handful of black pepper where it was so HOT and yet so GOOD….hahhaha
Then it was the Fish Masala, highly recommended by the staff there. The main spice of this is the masala preserved well in the fish. This fiery hot masala paste has its home in Goa. And believe me…it’s really flaming HOT…
Next, was the Vindaloo Squids. The squids were cook tenderly in the spicy red gravy. As I knew, this ‘Vindaloo’ spice was authentically from Western Indian coast. It is another type of masala used broadly in chicken and pork and also in squids. This curry blaze my tongue the most…but it worth all the sweats and tears…
To accompany my yummy dish, we have ordered some Plain Biryani and some Naan.
Biryani rice was normally made from Basmati rice where you will find the richness of spice within the rice. It savors so fine that you can even eat on its own…hhahhaa why do I sound like Gardenia Bread advertisment?? Hahhahhaa
The Plain Naan and the Onion Naan was not frail at all. For those who are watching seriously on their body and indeed calculating each calorie they consume, you should opt for this. Made from thick wheat flour and it was baked from heat within. Yup…no FAT at all!!
These Naans were so gracious with all the dish that I have ordered just now. GREAT!!
Overall, I will recommend this place to all those fans out there.
Cheers
