27-Feb ~ Kozue Japanese Restaurant
It was this BLACK thingy that attracted us to this place. Compare to other restaurant, I found this restaurant was rather small. And yet the decoration of this restaurant was not weak at all. Located just opposite to Maggie T and Kim Gary at Gurney, you will find this restaurant hiding silently with a touch of mystery colors, black.
The menu itself was black too. LOL…We served a cup of Ocha with a set of culinary. A pair of metal chopstick, a serviette with the logo on it and a small square sized of plate. I was so eager to try on the Chawanmushi, but unfortunately, there were no more to be served. How sad!! Hence, we opt for a few snack.
1st to serve, was this Enoki Bacon. By the name itself, then you can guess what was it about. Some Enoki mushroom was wrapped up with a big piece of bacon and grilled perfectly. A plate of this cost about RM5. I like the saltiness within the bacon. YUMM!!!Next was this Asparagus Bacon…yup..you are right..bacon again.. hahahaha!! The difference of this round is the bacon is wrapping around the asparagus. Same price as the Enoki Bacon. And here comes the main course. My beloved Japanese Curry Rice set. It comes with a plate of white steam rice with the thick gravy of curry of pork with potato and carrot, a bowl of miso soup, 2piece of watermelon and a small plate of Japanese salad. Only RM20!! But I found this dish quite salty. Then was this Agedashi Tofu. RM5 for 4pieces of Tofu. This tofu was coated with cornstarch and deep fried and served with some bits of Bonito flakes. Served with some soy sauce and Hoi Sin sauce. I can eat THEM ALL by myself…. Holy….Next was this Ham and cheese Sushi sandwich. RM8 per plate. Instead of using bread as sandwich, they used sushi rice as the replacement. Layered with a thin layer of egg, spread with some mayo and topped with the cheese and ham, adding some fresh cucumber and tomatoes… and here goes… Wa-la……Overall, this place served so-so food. I envy their creativity in making the Japanese food more variety and fusion them with style and a touch of healthiness. You are most welcome, but be aware of saltiness. Well…a couple of Ocha can help then.. LOL
